Recently had a set of oak stairs installed and stained. The wood filler doesn't match and really stands out compared to the oak. Is there any solution to blend them and make it not so noticeable?

You can buy tubes of acrylic paint at any craft store, and paint over the putty with a color that's closer to the stain color. The paint dries in minutes. Then you can put another coat over it.
