How is T-molding normally installed in a doorway?
I was planning to undercut the door jam, but I don't think I'll be able to slide it in to place due to the T part. Seems like a lot of work to notch both ends without leaving gaps.

You do not need to install the T-mold under the door jambs. Just cut the molding so it will fit net (tight) to both door jambs. If the door stops are in the way, then cut the stops up to be able to slide the molding under the stops and tight to the jambs. I try to avoid installing T-mold right where the stops are due to the difficulty in getting it (the T-mold) to fit into place neatly. I typically will install a T-mold either in front of or behind the stops.

Please excuse my bad terminology. When I said door jam(b), I meant the door stop. A picture posted on this site showed the T-molding centered underneath the door (when closed), so that's how I cut my floor. It would have been easier to do as Gary suggested and avoid the doorstop altogether.
