Hello all,

First timer here. Looking to get advice on what type of wood my floor is. What would be the best sander to rent and what my starting grit should be. Thinking of a random orbital sander or a drum sander..20 or 36 grit to start. Attached is how my floors are after carpet removal.

I have several videos on that. Could be shellac in there...yuk

Can't find them. You can find that and far more on my YouTube Channel. Too many videos to count.

Thanks, I will watch those. Can I test the starting grit with a handheld sander or wait till I get the stand-up machine? Concerned the random orbital won't cut it...does anyone think the random orbital from Clarke American will handle that surface with 36 grit?
