Hi out there, I am rebuilding my home after Hurricane Katrina and my wife wanted to get Bamboo floors. I decided on strand Bamboo and we bought it a few months ago. We have just about run out of money since then and are now scrambling to figure out what and where we can cut costs. As far as install, Do we have to go with a Moisture Barrier and an Adhesive knowing how much rain we get here in New Orleans? How much Diff. will it really make?
I will follow up with other questions after this one is answered. Thanks.

The only way that's going to save you any money is if you've found someone who has agreed to buy back the bamboo at twice the price you paid when you have to rip it out. No way I'd install on a slab in your area without a vapor barrier and full urethane adhesive.

I didn't see where you said you were on concrete. But if you are bw is correct. If on a wood/ply/OSB substrate just nail it but plastic the crawl space.

Kinda ironic.... When Bostik first came to us with MVP, one of their big claims to fame, was that it was tested and performed well, in New Orleans  .

It is a concrete slab and the floor is still sealed up. It has yet to be unboxed. So I guess the only real thing to do is take out another loan for supplies to lay this floor? I am hearing Bostik moisture barrier and adhesive everywhere I look.
Any suggestions on how I can do this without spending $350 or more for every 200 Sq. ft.?
