Hi Guys, I am new to this trade and forum. We started this multiple room project in the middle of the largest room with a spline. We went into other rooms through openings working back, per say, with splines. The problem coming up is that we are working towards a raised brick hearth. Do or should we switch directions at the hearth? With the expansion characteristics of maple, what sealer should we use..water based or oil? We live in the Pacific NW, though construction moisture is not an issue, do we need to plan on running a dehumidifier in the future? With a dehumidifier we have maintained 40 to 50% RH during hardwood acclimation and installation with temperatures of 58-86 degrees. What brand of finish would I get the best finish with, being this is my first installation? I want a finish that will be the very best as this is a high traffic area, open concept type of house. This a great forum with lots of detailed information. Thanks, Karl
