My hardwood installer finished 8/1/06 and I still have fine dust everywhere. I'm thinking the bone heads didn't turn off a/c while sanding. How can I clean up their mess? I clean and clean and clean but the next day there is fine dust everywhere. I can't move into my new home because of all the dust. Thanks. Tina

Well, some of that dust, and maybe most of it, came from sanding. But as a flooring installer/finisher, I work in lots of new houses and remodels and they are NEVER clean before I even get started. So some of that dust probably was already there. If it's in the ducting, then a duct cleaning company could clean those ducts. Change the filter on your HVAC unit and then hire a cleaning company experienced in cleaning up homes after building or remodeling. Who pays? I don't know. IMO, the general building contractor needs to foot the bill. His responsibilty to turn over the house clean after completion.

Have you changed your A/C filter since they left?

Did you have carpet before? If so, carpet and it's static characteristics, captured what your now seeing. Vacuuming once a week, sure is easier then dusting daily.
