I need to replace some damaged areas of a floor over 30 years old. Each square is 4 3/4" with 5 strips just under 1" wide. Thickness is 1/4" and is probably oak. Any ideas? I have called local flooring shops with no success.

They keep that stuff on the shelf at the Lowes here in town. Probally wont match in color but for a buck a foot I guess you can sand off and refinish.

Kevin, that's real interesting...I checked with Lowe's here in Austin TX but they only have 12"x12"(same with Home Depot). I may have to call your store to order if I can't find around here!

oatmeal, The parquet you are looking for is made by Peace Flooring Company, Inc. Magnolia, Arkansas. (870)234-2310. They call it Standard Pattern. I am not sure they will sell to you but they may tell you where to buy it. We do many repairs that have this size parquet. Harris-Tarkett may also make it. It was once called Harris Bondwood.
