I NEVER FILL ANY REFINISHINF FLOORS, OTHER THEN THE NAIL HOLES AND BOARD ENDS IF NEEEDED. I KNOW THAT IF I DID THE FLOOR MAY EXPAND OR CONTRACT CAUSING THE FILL TO EITHER CRACK OR PUSH OUT. I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS PUBLICATION OR ARTICLES STATING THIS IN THE BEST AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO FILL.

Filling floors is a subjective issue. Some think that the need to deliver a cosmetically better looking floor is the prime goal, and trowel filler on refinishes. Others play it cautious and do not, for the reasons you state. Both are valid points of view. I am not aware of any article that definitively states one is better than the other. IMO, these things should be decided on a job by job basis and discussed with the homeowner prior to commencing the work.

We do not fill old fir floors for the same reason. The fill will pop out. You can't make an old floor new nor would you want to. The age is the charm and beauty of the floor.

In order to achieve what the competition cannot grasp, we must complete what they will not attempt. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but it's darn sure worth it.
