Help! My installer glued 3/8 inch Brazilian Teak on top of an existing parque' (sp?) floor sitting on a concrete foundation (therefore, the floor is not glued directly to concrete). However, there are many areas that present a popping noise when stepped on. Is there anything that I can do to rectify this short of pulling up the floor?

Thanks!

Ut oh...one of those Lumber what's their name installers? Without seeing it, this sounds like a total failure. The only recourse if there is such a thing...nope no such critter.

...but... you could ..no, not going there, it could be so widespread you'd be spinning your wheels if one were to consider glue injection.

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Its trash. I looked at a similar job a few years ago the top floor ripped the parquet off the concrete when it expanded. Rip it up find a new installer and a lawyer.

You ain't supposed to install hardwood planks over parquet.

LL will actually just lay it off on "their installers". Since in reality...they don't have installers. Just wash their hands of it

How do we know it was LL installers? I know we don't like them much but lets make sure before we start dissing them unfairly.

Oh, went there a couple weeks ago to pick up some vinyl/wood plank. Some nice peel-n-stick stuff. My customer loves it and she has lots of dogs and cats that pee on everything. So I ask the LL guy....Do I need to use a primer on the concrete? He says "No, just make sure it is clean." DOH, It even says to use primer in the instructions. You should always use a primer on peel-n-stick.

Next, I am doing a LL laminate for another customer. It says in the instructions that you can fit end joints down to 3 inches from the presiding rows end joints. This is to insure a stable floor. But you should not have peices at the end of the rows less than 12 inches.

The one LL store here just moved across town to a larger store. The warehouse area is larger, but it is so full of krap, the guys have to move twenty pallets to get to a pallet, and there is so much damaged merchandise in there I was shocked.

Now if you want to blast LL make sure you have a verifiable story.

We ARE just assuming it's LL...There's other Braz. Teaks on the market. And other installers besides their HSS sub.
