Customer is adament about a sheen appearance. Satin at minimum. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which finishes may achieve this ? I have yet to find a spar urethane that's suitable for floors. Penetrating oils I am afraid will be too dull ?? thanks for the input. :?:

Is this outside? If so, then look for Flecto Varathane brand exterior spar polyurethane ( http://www.flecto.com/CBGResourceCenter ... msdspro=74 ) It comes in gloss, semi and satin. If the work is inside and it's a floor, why use an exterior finish? Spar varnishes and urethanes are SOFTER, not harder.

Yes the floor is outside and I am aware of the fact that spar's are softer and more flexible. We chose to use Sikkens DEK, Natural. It is far from natural in color but available in satin. 2 coat process with an 18 month maintence coat. I didn't really like the choice but we'll see...........May go with the varathane next time around. I believe that system requires 4 coats. Hence the reason I did not chooose that while doing the research. Thanks for the info Gary. Keep ya posted !! Also Sikkens DEK has a high VOC and not available in some states. Sikkens then refers you to SRD. Which I used on my deck. Hate it !
