My customer wants a custom made inlay of an arrowhead, 6' by 4'. Prefinished floor with the arrowhead being a different type of wood. What do you think is the best way of going about making it and installing it. My customer said that he will make me a template, he is some kind of engineer.

There are several guys right here that can do that, especially if they have a template to work from, and no designing time involved.

It can be costly. For even easy looking stuff, it can be a couple of thousand.
