Hello all,

I'm planning on installing about 630 sq ft of engineered t&g wood flooring in my home. I'm planning on doing it myself, I will be doing a floating installation and i will be be gluing the boards to each other. I know the rule of thumb is 1/4" - 1/2" expansion gap. However, i am in california and its the "wet" season here. I am just worried that if i leave a 1/2" gap, when summer comes ("dry" season) the wood will shrink and might have a gap between the end of the floor and the baseboards. The width of my baseboards aren't much more than 1/2".
