My brother is installing or rather trying to install an exotic hardwood for me. He is used to installing 3/4" hardwood but the wood I ordered from Mercier is 9/16" and the pneumotic nailer he has is not correct for this and is not working. Before I try and return the wood I thought I would try and find out for him what type of equipment and nails/staples are required-then I would see if I could rent something. A couple of local installers he talked to didn't have much for suggestions. Gues I must have picked out a wood thickness not many deal with. Thank you

The Spotnails Floor Monster stapler has an adapter plate for 3/8, 1/2 and 9/16 flooring.

And use a 1 3/8 staple. Mannington likes the nylon coated staple, as do at least one other mill, but I've had one rep from Junckers say "those staples are crap, use the Senco vinyl coated". I've asked the question about any advantage of nylon vs vinyl coated, but never got a definative answer. Also, never had a problem with either staple.
