What's the manufacturer say?

It may be a glueless floater? I can't tell from my monitor.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the website, but there was no specific mention that OSB was a NO-NO. Normally., I would do a floater or staple down install, but this floor needs so much prep, I think a gluedown may be the way to go, but I really think I"ll lose the bid, as I have no history with this builder.
the GC added on to the house; the new subgloor is 3/8 to 3/4 inches low, front to back, he is working very hard to hide it from his client, and I think he is trying to push it off on some unknowing flooring company, and then pin any complaints on them.
I know better, but I've never looked in to gluing down on OSB, so I 'd thought I's ask. It's gotta be better then particle board :D

I would not glue to OSB..
Is it "Underlayment" grade OSB?

Did not check that Ray. The print would of been easy enough to see, but I didn't think about that. I wound up telling him it would be time and materials, and it could be a day or five. Like Floorguy says, I never lost money on a job I walked away from.

You are smart to stay away from this one.
Floorguy is from Austin, Texas.
Floorguy is an installer with experience.

How would you advise, to install a flooring like most Bruce floors, where it is a gluedown only floor.

Here is a gluedown over OSB

Keep in mind, SOME wood floor manufacturers accept particle board as an approved underlayment to GLUE (not nail) their wood floors to. Properly prepped, an OSB subfloor should not pose a problem to glue a wood floor to. However, I generally avoid this and recommend an additional underlayment for multiple reasons. Often, subfloors are spanned at their max and are not stiff enough for thinner, engineered flooring. And a thin engineered will be lower than the other floor coverings it abutts to. And gluing directly to the subfloor, whether OSB or plywood, makes any future repairs way more difficult. I believe a thinner engineered performs best with a plywood underlayment over the subfloor.

Never pay attention to advice on Flooring Forums.

Always pay attention to the Manufacturer Specifications and Installation Requirements.
You will find the Installation Instructions and Requirements written without exclusions.
They do not EXCLUDE sub-floor materials, but they do list approved sub-floor materials.
What do the installation Instructions say? Glue to Plywood or Concrete?
They are also very clever when they state "Follow the adhesive manufacturers sub-floor recommendations"............. Then you read the Adhesive Manufacturers Installation Standards and they say "Always follow the manufacturers Sub-Floor Requirements"...........

Ya just cannot win, so you come to a Flooring Forum for advice and that, too, is dangerous.
Just remember; we inspect the failure and if the flooring is not adhered to an "approved" sub-floor.................. it is your loss.
So....... Go read the manufacturers requirements in their installation instructions.

Ya, read the maunufacturers requirements! Bruce, Hartco & Robbins(Armstrong) says it is perfectly OK, to glue down to particle board.

"Underlayment grade" Is new wording in the specs, that I have not seen in print, yet. Care to direct us to that link, with the wording "underlayment grade", when it concerns a gluedown installation? Educate me!!

All gluedown wood flooring that I have installed personally, all approved OSB as a suitable substrate to glue over. Nothing about, underlayment grade.

Are you getting fastened down, where you need fastener holding power, confused with gluedown requirements and a topical bond?
