We had Multi-Plank Prefinished engineered natural wood flooring (Maple) manufactured by Satin Finish installed in a newly constructed condo in October/04. This was a glue down installation over underlayment and gypcrete. The underlayment used was ceramiTech membrane by acoustic-tech and the adhesive used to glue the underlayment and wood flooring was Acousti Tech AD-316.
The flooring looks bumping and feels like crap to me! Initially we were told it would be replaced (600+ sq. ft). Now, the business we purchased it from, with the support of the condo corp, is telling us that the current state of the flooring is within industry standard.
Is the following really within general industry standard?
- butt ends are overwooding/cupping (this is occuring at 28% of the butt ends)
- the max. peak (of the areas measured) was .009
- areas are undulating however this is less of a problem then the bumping feeling underfoot due to cupping)
We are very frustrated because as a consumer we are unable to figure out what is actually "acceptable".
HELP!
