I have light scratches in the urathane coating from my two small dogs. I've read some pretty interesting solutions / temporary fixes out on the interwebs. I'm not sure what to believe.

I have trimmed the dogs nails and will keep them shorter. The dogs will no longer be playing tug of war on the wood floor, this was how the scratches got their in the first place.

I called the manufacturer and they said there was really nothing I could do besides have the floor refinished.

I'm open to any ideas on how to mask/fix these scratches.

Thanks

They're pretty much steering you right, although you don't have to have it "refinished". You can have the existing finish recoated....the finish is abraded, and another layer is applied on top.
There are sprays that are supposed to "mask" scratches, but I've yet to find one that actually works. There are refresher products, but those contain urethane solids, and aren't very durable long term....once you start using them , you're pretty much resigned to using them for eternity. Plus, they are quite finnicky, and if you don't apply them EXACTLY as instructed, they are bad to streak or cloud.
Bottom line, if the scratches are so bad that you can't live with them, pay a pro to screen and recoat the floor.

I'm interested in getting the Armstrong Exotic Fusion, particularly the Cypress Grove and Banyan Mahogany. How do you like yours? Any pics you could share?
