I have a eng hardwood installation nightmare. I purchased and had installed 600sqft of wide plank flooring. They assured me that it would be nailed down. They floated it. I was not home at the time, but my wife was watching, and she knows they only glued half of the seems. This alone will void the warranty.
They installed cut off planks in the middle of the floor in several places. They have gaps in the joints where you can see the tongues in several places. They have H patterns everywhere. Soft spots everywhere. Just too hard to believe.
The owner of store came to the house to inspect this. He assured me my wife was seeing things because his men would never leave unglued seems.
He now wants to cut out there blunders and replace with new planks, but not removing the whole floor. Can they do this? I am afraid it will end up worse of a chop job and be even more disappointed.
What should I do?
Do I demand this floor be removed and start over, or let them try and fix this?

I have sent an e mail to the manufacturer, but I am getting no reply.
I really need to know what to do, as they are coming back to try and fix this 8/20/14.

Harris Tarkett, now Harris Wood used to spec spot gluing floating floors. Glue about 6-12 inches leave space, glue another six to 12 inches. Don't know the reason why. But I do recall a failed floor that was glued entirely. Snap and crackle sounds. Manufacturers are different in how they spec out installations.

Doesn't answer your concerns, but...

The rest sounds like hack work. Repairing a floating glued floor is one of the hardest repairs I know of.
