Just did some digging around. IMO, Wyoming could be a great place to raise a family if you can find a good job. Check out these stats.
1) LOWEST population of all states!
2) LOW crime rate
3) Affordable housing @ $145,000 and average rent @ $600.00
4) Weather? well, it ain't California but it does have it's positives.
5) Median Household income is $46,000 but the average house is $145,000
6) ranks 48 out of 50 in bankruptcy filings
7) It's got Yellowstone National Park
8* Carpenter's are getting $18 to $25 an hour (new hires). That's about the same as around here but their houses and rents are one third the cost.
9) You want SPACE, you got it. Roads for your motorcycle? Plenty!
10) Sales tax is 4%. In CA. here, it is 8.25%
11) 92% have a high school diploma
12) Ranks LAST (by a large margin) in reported AIDS cases.
13) Home ownership is 72%
14) Unemployment is a low 3.6%
15) Of course, ranching and farming are big. Ranks 1st in the country in size (acres) of average ranch.
I thought it compared very well to the best places in the country. Ideal for the outdoorsman. Check it out:
