Hello! I purchased a new construction about a year ago. My flooring is 5 inch hand scraped oak throughout my house. I'm finding that in many areas the sides/edges of the planks are forming this discoloration/fading and parts are slowly chipping away. What is the issue? Is there something wrong with the material or installation? What is the whitish stuff forming? I've attached a photo of what it looked like in the beginning (perfect) and few photos of what it looks like now.

Thank you for the help and thoughts!

Looks topical like someone has been putting on some sort of polish is my best guess.
