I'm in the middle of nailing down some multi-layer hardwood (5/8" thick, constituted of three layers).
Pre-finished, tongue and groove, MIII FS 1 1/2" staples into 1/2" ply atop 3/4" OSB.
Running my hand across the floor perpendicular to the lay of the boards (bumping my palm across all the long-ways seams) I feel that the boards seem feathered. The tongue sides of the boards sit a wee bit higher than the groove sides, so if you can imagine a cross-section of the floor it might have a slight saw-tooth pattern where each left side of the board is a wee bit higher than the right side of the board it seams with. If the staples were sitting too high I would think the groove side would sit high, but it's the tongue side.
Does this make any sense? It's late... my apologies if not
Any ideas why the planks would lay this way? I'm as newbie as they come WRT hardwood flooring so it could be something really trivial.
Thanks!
