Wow! I would never be able to figure that out. I couldn't get through algebra in high school. I would have to guess on what I needed. My method for computing my needs: buy something, try it out, and if it works fine, great! If not, try to return it. Sad, isn't it! :(

The shipping charges would be a bear. hoho

How about I send you some tables for computing cfm needs? Mine are hardly precise ,but they are good for developing a mathematical strategy for outrunning your machine.

Ignernt but working to become less so,

CHU.

I just bought the Alto Clark DCS vac and am very happy. $800 for the premium model with hose and metal attachments. Very quiet and the hose was easy to get used to when your not breathing edger dust in small closets! It has made life much, much better, i don't feel as tired at the end of the day. Portability is key for me, those big things won't fit in a compact truck w/shell that I prefer.
Sold my old buffer and bought the matching Clark. $1200 without hardplate.
For my Hummel, I don't see the need for a vac hookup as long as you are using the Bona bag. The middle flap in the bag is key for dust pickup, keeps it from swirling. Well worthwhile for any big machine.

Oh yea, about the edger swirls. What Gary said about edger adjjustment is true and crucial. Another way to adjust your cutting edge is with papers. For initial cuts I adjust my machine for two sheets of 50. If agression is needed, one 36 will take plenty off. For final cut, usually 100 grit, I use 4 sheets. You can adjust according to needs. They are not ripped off but switched around when worn. I prefer to keep my edger pad protected with the extra paper. Edging is an art.

It is no longer Alto Clarke. Just Clarke.

In order to achieve what the competition cannot grasp, we must complete what they will not attempt. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but it's darn sure worth it.

The Alto name is quite prominant on both the vacuum and the buffer.

Marco, Sorry, but it is somewhat complicated. I got my info from Wayne Lee at Clarke. When Alto was formed, Clarke was turned into Alto-Clarke. But now it seems there are three US divisions. There is American-Lincoln, Clarke, Clarke American. That is the name of the three US divisions of Alto. But some of the equipement is still being labeled Alto Clarke; like the equipement you bought. So yes, it is still owned by Alto but they have renamed the Alto Clarke division just Clarke. If you click "about us" tab and look at the drop down of Alto Websites on this link http://www.americansanders.com/Products ... ers&Pro=90
It'll show you the three US divisions of Alto. Confusing, isn't it! Wayne was very insistant that it is now called Clarke and not Alto Clarke. Go figure!
