I just installed some DuPont glueless laminate flooring in my kitchen (about 120 square feet), and I have a quick question. I followed their installation guide (made sure the floor was level, left 1/4 gaps around the edges, sealed the edges with flexible silicone, etc.).
I noticed yesterday that there are two spots where there seems to be "soft spots". What I mean is, when you step on these spots, the floor gives a little bit, like it's not resting on the floor underneath. Both of these spots are where the same two rows of laminate are joined together. I've had the floor installed for about a month now and I just noticed this yesterday (though it could have been there before). Also, the temperatures here in Detroit have recently started getting hotter.
Is this normal for floating floors, or is something wrong? If something needs repair, how would I go about fixing it? Unfortunately, I already installed all the quarter-round molding all the way around the room so taking the floor up would be a major undertaking.
Thanks in advance for any information.
