Hello everyone! I'm having a small problem with my newly refinished hardwood floors (they were refinished just before we bought our house 45 months ago). I'm seeing dull streaks (see picture). I'm not sure if my cleaning routine is causing them (vacuum + steam mop) and what to do to fix the issue. Any insight would be appreciated!

Do NOT steam mop your floor! I dont care what they say its the worst possible way to clean your floor! Water in vapor form is the most permeable type especially when its heated. ive seen some floors totally screwed from the shark.

Thanks Kevin, I'll stop using the steam mop. Is there a way to fix the streaks that are already there though?

looks like you have trapped some water vapor under the finish. Hopefully it will fade as it dries out.

I always wondered about the steam mop.I anticipated it would harm floors and it seems that it does.As far as touching this problem up, it might be possible to buff and re coat the floor .

The first thing to do is let the floor dry for some time. Maybe a good month .And then the first thing to check is for any delamination in the dull areas.IF there is no delamination of the finish, go ahead and buff / re coat the floor.Hopefully, it returns the patina that you lost .
