Hello all, very interesting message board.
I am installing 3/4 " maple hardwood floor in my master bedroom. The carpet has been removed, the glued underlayment has been removed (with bits and pieces of the plywood...argh!!) and the base boards have been removed. There is a bit of glue left on the plywood (5/8").
My problem is that on 14' of the room, the joists run on one side and the last 4', they run on the opposite side, which has created a 3/4" drop at the lowest point, right in front of the doorway. I am thinking of installing a 3/4" plywood, then filling in the remainder, but I'm not sure how to do this job. I am a rookie and this is my first install. I want to do what it takes to make my wife happy
