T'is the first time my wife and I have ever laid down a hardwood floor. Didn't come out too bad.
The wood is 3/4" x 3 1/4" Maple, which is stained bronze. We laid around 400 sq ft.
Now, the Mrs wants us to install the same wood in all 3 bedrooms and hallway. YIKES !!
Wish me luck.

Thanks Stephen :D Yup, little felt castors under everything to protect our hard work. Now we're going to install the same hardwood in our hallway, and 3 bedrooms. Although I know in theory that the floor should be installed perpendicular to the floor joists, for cosmetic reaons, we'll be installing the new floor parallel to the joists. Our hallway is rather long, and if I were to lay the hardwood from side to side, it would make the hallway look like a railroad track. We also want a smooth transition into all 3 bedrooms from the hall, with no joints at the door thresholds.
My sub floor is 3/4" plywood, and my joists are 2 x 10" and are 12" center. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks again for the kind words.

Awesome and innovative design work. Can you share here how much it cost for making this?
