Hello,
This is my first post here, and I was wondering, as I just recently got my floor sanded and varnished, I can see a fine hair like scratches in a swirl like motion all over the floor under a certain angle/light. I asked the person who did my floors and he said that it is normal. Is it truly normal?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Can you see them from standing position in normal lighting? If yes, then those are screen sanding marks and while they are common, are to be avoided. If you are down on your hands and knees looking for flaws in the floor, you will find them. Floors are NOT furniture and a piano like finish should not be expected. From my experience, most minor screening sanding marks fade over a six month period of time to where they are much less noticable.

yes its from sanding we had the same thing when we redid our hardwood floors and they can be taken out with a finish sand paper 120 grit we rented the floor sander from home depot and it left pig tails in our floor but we simply too a palm sander over the pig tails with a 120 grit paper and took them out before we applyed a stain and polyurthane.
