yeah yeah. Get a thin pad for your buffer, one made a of steel wool. No thicker than 3/4 inch. Assuming you can't obtain a Bona Prep Pad...ohhhh. Then pinch it between your drive pad and a crisp sheet of 220 SCREENing disc (mesh). If you and your buffer are unseperable at the hip, fire it up and tuck in tight around entire perimiter of the room/house. If youre good, you can avoid handscreening the edges. When you get back to the start you will have created a nice white film of dust around your edges now continue to buff the floor with your 220 in straight lines with the direction of the floor, cutting your white dust fan in half untill your back touches the wall behind you. There, now your entire floor is buffed and ready to adhere to your next coat of frosting.

Tip: when your buffing with 220 between coats dont stay in one place longer than the other and haul some ass, Oh yeah, and dont forget to vacuum and tack with water you damn nubie.

There Gary, was that less floral?

Never use steel wool with a waterbased finish, unless you like to refinish it when the rust specks start to show up in less then 6 months.

Buffer? uh I don't know what one looks like. Can I do it by hand, like it's furniture? Would carefully sanding to a haze in the direction of the grain with 220 or using some type of 3M pad work by hand? I am only coating maybe 80 sq ft.. Thanks guys

Jamal,

My comment was supposed to sound like a compliment, not a critisism. Nothing wrong with flowery prose. Ever read Robert Browning?

Or Shelly?

But I guess it's like quiche, real men avoid!

Jamal,

You suggest Dura-seal poly for the DIY, I am worried it wont be compatable with the finish that is already on the floor and Ill be stuck having to strip the floors down to their skinys before starting. Second, that it might yellow as it ages. Any ideas on this instead of the Traffic?

Thanks
A
