Hey all -

I recently had hardwood floors refinished. The flooring contractor agreed to three coats of poly. The floors looked beautiful at first; however, within a month of the work, I've noticed peeling in certain places, and even bare exposed wood. I'm seriously suspecting that the contractor took short cuts and put less than the agreed-upon three coats, but have no idea how to verify.

Any ideas/suggestions/advice?

Do you have a written contract? It ought to state what finish was to be used and how many coats of what finish.
Peeling is an adhesion issue. Call the contractor. The contractor should suggest a remedy.
