 Post subject: Design limitations with floating floor?

I was wondering if it's possible (other than going nuts with a biscuit joiner) to make patterns or designs with a floating floor, such as a herringbone patter or a border with the central area at a 45.

Some manufacturers, Kahr's for example, make some of their products sized to install as a herringbone, or block pattern.
If the product you select does not have this feature, forget the biscuit joinery etc., it will end up a visual disaster, or too much work to make it worthwhile.
