I thought I had read not to pick up and transport your wood if it's raining out. Well I just checked out the 10-day forecast because we paid for our wood, and it should be in on Tuesday. Planned to pick it up on Tues, get it home, and let it start acclimating.

I have Central Air, but I don't know if that will be enough to overcome Mother Nature. Should I just wait for everything to clear up to even bring the wood home?

Blech.

What are you transporting it in??

As long as it is not in the back of an open pick-up truck or flatbed utility trailer, and raining, you will be fine. A pin-type wood moisture meter is a must when acclimating the wood. Don't stack the wood to acclimate. Open the ends of the cartons, and spread the cartons around.

In my pick-up truck.

Do you know where I can pick up a moisture meter? I asked the store I bought it from but they didn't know.

When acclimating, can I stack it up on edge? Should I put something likes straws between rows to keep them from touching while they acclimate? Or just put them flat on the floor? Obviously I have more wood than I do floor to spread it out...

I need to figure out expansion gapping between rows too. I imagine there is some forumula where if it's xx% humidity in the house then I need to leave xx" gap every xx rows?

Do not stand the flooring on the ends, or you will be working with bowed boards.

Sticker them, and leave space between cartons, if you have to stack, stack the second layer 90ยบ to the first, leaving a space between cartons.

Oh definitely I didn't mean on end, I meant on edge, like the long edge.

What do you mean by sticker them?
