That's what I've been seeing the last six weeks. Seems three of every four refinish jobs are stained, mostly quite dark.

What's going on in your part of the country? Coffee Brown...I think

Much the same here in NJ wood floor refinishing.

We are also doing alot of Rubio Monocoat NJ for people that like the natural look.

I'm a big fan of Rubio Monocoat too! :D

And I just got hold of some Mullican prefinished engineered samples, one is jet black.

Oh yes, dark floors are so in style in NY area and have been for at least last 3-4 yrs. I've written several articles on this topic. I'd say Jacobean most popular. Many love ebony (for more stylish/modern look) and many do a 50/50 blend. This is followed by dark walnut.

After very dark, very light (i.e. natural) is most popular.

Brown tones way more popular than red tones which seem to be rather polarizing (maybe 15 % like reds vs. 85% for browns).

In Connecticut, Provincial stain has been a staple for a long time but so have natural floors. The trend that i have seen the last few years is to use some of the more red colors like Sedona Red or Red Chestnut .GUnstock seems ot be somewhat popular as far as a less normal color is concerned.

And that's the Boston area. Right?

Thanks Jeff

How about the SF Bay area?
Florida?
Texas?

Did I miss anybody? Yep, plenty.

Yes Boston.
I just came back from the Mercier plant, great operation, people, and products. Now I just have to convince my customers of that.

Seems all the Canadian manufacturers I've dealt with seem to know how to produce a quality product.

Update:

What's the consensus today? Still dark colors in your market?

That's what some of you have been saying. Debbie for one

Seems light colors are the rage in the warmer sunbelt states.

Greys, beige, off whites.
