After removing parkay flooring there are many spots where the first 1/8" layer of the plywood subfloor has delaminated from my 3/4" subfloor.

I have been advised to put down a layer of 1/4" bdx plywood as an underlayment to compensate for the voids. Do I glue and staple this underlayment down prior to installing my aquabar followed by 3/4" hardwood?

Is this the correct method?

So far I have screwed down my 3/4" subfloor with deck screws and removed any loose nails. This has taken care of all my squeaks.

What would you pros do? Do I need to staple the crap out of the underlayment and glue it? Or will the staples from my hardwood add enough support?

Thanks fellas

If the subfloor stopped squeaking why cant you use it?..
are you installing prefinished?

if you do pit down 1/4" defnitely glue and staple.

staple every 6 inches on perimeter and approx every 8 in center.

glue should be a serpentine pattern
