Hi,

I have a problem. I have the Kahrs Engineered Maple flooring. It is pretty nice. When I bought my condo the lady that owned it before me had (rod iron furniture?? (the kind that is usually outside) inside the house on the maple and the moron goudged up several boards. Like about 10 - 15.

I had the Kahrs rep come out here and we both looked at the new Kahrs maple board he brought with him and it was WAY lighter than my floor which has yellowed over 5 or so years.

So my question is, as I feel I could easily replace the boards myself is...

Is there really no artificial way of darkening these boards slightly chemical wise? Or is there a trick. I also heard that if I get a darker color to match it is going to darken even more and then be too dark?

All the flooring guy had to offer was, I should put tile in or redo the entire floor? What a waste as 80 percent of the floor is still good.

Anyone out there preferably an Xpert have anything to suggest? I cannot sand them they are past that and goudges too deep...

Thanx for any advice.

If you set the replacement planks outside in the sun......you will be suprised how quickly they darken , due to the ultra violet rays, causing photosynthesis. Iv'e even heard of guys using ultra bright lamps, ( such as tanning lamps ).

If it is true that the replacement new lighter boards would eventualy darken and catch up with the exsisting if I replace them, then I might..!

Kahrs seems to think so. Sun is somthing I have no shortage of.

THX
