I have new flooring that was installed but the molding has not been layed down yet. It appears the installer didnt leave enough clearance in front of the fireplace to install threshold or end molding.

What is a good way to cut back 3/4" flooring that is already installed? I can do most of it with a circular saw if my guard allows me to get close enough to the wall. However I still need to square the corners.

Is there a good tool or method for this that I am not thinking of?

A good sharp chisel and hammer or the Fein MultiMaster

Have you asked the installer to come back and do that for you?
