Hey guys,

I'm new on here but I thought I would share a floor I just finished last year. It is African Rosewood (Bubinga), hand scraped all by me, stained ebony. Its all random width and the planks range from 6" to 30" wide with most of the boards being between 10' and 15' in length. It was one of the most intense floors I have ever done.

Here are a few pictures:

See now that is what a hand scraped floor should look like, not this mass produced machine scraped "hand scraped" stuff out now.
Great job!
gonna be a pita to clean that though lol

Haha, I know! They just finished all the trim work recently and I went out to do some touch ups. I must say, a black gloss floor shows everything. It will require lots of maintenance.

i have had customers with those kind of floors get a robot vacuum and leave it running in the daytime.

NICE work man! Thats pretty sharp. How did you fasten it down? Did you scrape it on a bench or after it was installed?

Hey thanks for the comments! Everything was scraped on a bench beforehand. The whole floor was glued and nailed down. When I say glued I mean complete coverage trowel spread Bostik's Best. I did everything I could to help minimize movement on such wide planks.

I like it, and dark floors as well. Don't like the way some machine made floors exhibit a pattern you can see with the scraping.

Whats the typical upcharge for doing that by hand? You don't have to give out your price just a round about number.
