Floors dont have a mind of their own, if your floor cupped after being refinished, once the finish cures out the floor should lay back down. If you sand a floor really thin thin it can happen sort of the potato chip effect. Its has to be sanded down to the nailheads for this to happen or be a 3/8" floor someone sanded way down. So what I am getting to is that you have to sand the daylights out of a floor to get it down that thin or it has been sanded too many times already. 4 coats over 2-3 period is very normal for waterborne finishes, its why many people use them. Faster you can finish a job the faster you get paid and are off to the next, most floor finishers could give a rats ass about the environment its a business. Their is something outside of 4 coats over a 3 day period that has caused your floor to cup. ID start barking up a different tree the finish isnt the only culprit here, something else in conjunction with the process possibly but not directly. CUPPED FLOORS ARE A SITE RELATED ISSUE! period point blank end of story.
