Hey Chuck,
I have the old Crain Super Saw for jambs and such. It came with a masonry blade but I haven't tried using that yet though. Is this the same saw or is the 812 different. BTW, when I've been presented with masonry to deal with, in the past, I have scribed the flooring to the rock. I'm pretty good at it and never had a complaint. I'll hold back about a 1/4" and caulk that joint with a latex sanded caulk from Hydroment. But I can see that undercutting would look better. How about REAL STONE? Ya know, real river rock, not this fake crap. How does the 812 handle that? And what about true brick? They're hard as, well, you know. Outside of the dust, what other precautions/steps can we take as installers (oops, I meant floor mechanics) to ensure a safe and clean cut. Never tried an angle grinder although I have one. Always used my Super Saw.
