I made my own Black Walnut flooring- Harvested, milled, dried and processed. I have it ready at 3/4" by 4.5" wide and random lengths of 2-5'. It's tongue and grooved. I will be using a flooring nailer to nail it down. 2 Questions: 1: I want to use cork underlayment and am proposing NOT gluing it down. Is that ok? 2: Is butt jointing the end grains exceptable? Should they be glued? Or should I take the time to spline joint all the butt joints? and if so do you then glue those? Thanks so much for the help!
