I love the look of Acacia wood! I was extremely excited about installing it into my home. The engineered wood shipment arrived and I picked up a few boxes and I was saddened to see that almost every board has numerous cross-grain scratches in it - oddly enough almost always in groups of three. The manufacturer is telling me that this type of scratching is typical for Acacia yet I can't find any similar scratching in any of their displays or samples or in any online photos. Some of the longer boards have 3 or 4 different instances of these "3-scratch-lines". Is anyone familiar with Acacia and is this type of scratching typical? This wood looks like it was farmed from a 3-toed sloth sanctuary ....feedback please? I posted a video on youtube showing the scratches -
