My contractor is hand scraping the red oak floors in my 55 year old home. He tells me he wants to use water base
Dura Seal and he will put three coats on the same day. Is this recomended procedure and is this a good product? Thanks

There is nothing on the web site about this. The procedure is called hot coating. Other coating manufacturers recommend only 2 coats per 24 hours. Have him verify first.

All their water based instructions say to wait 2-3 hours between coats. So as long as he waits for the previous coat to dry I don't see a problem with it.

We use waterbase finish and we can do 3-4 coats a day depending on temp and humidity. I talke to the rep and was informed that as long as the first coats are dry(use moisture meter) no problem.

It will not be a problem to do 3 coats in a day.
