So, I pulled up my nasty carpet yesterday and found somewhat decent hardwood underneath. It's going to have to be sanded and refinished, but, that's not why I am posting. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the rest of what I found.
When I pulled up the carpet, I found two 1/4" pieces of plywood, pretty much dead center. I figured, ok, there's a hole or something under the plywood.
I had to know, so I pulled up the plywood and this is what I found:



So, my question is, why would they have placed the plywood down, when there is no damage to the sub floor? I'm thinking *maybe* they ran out of hardwood strips?
It measures 40" x 96"
