Hello, I recently installed an unfinished variable width hickory flooring in our hallway over radiant floor heat. I let the flooring acclimate for about a month before I laid it. Apparently the moisture content of the flooring was not as low as I expected. After I turned the heat on, the flooring shrunk and now has 1/32" gaps between every board  . I haven't sanded the floor yet so I still have an oppurtunity to try and close and fill the gaps. I am not very optimistic about getting the gaps closed by prying with a bar and beating with a sledge. So I am thinking I will need to fill the gaps with some type of filler/putty. I wanted to get some words of wisdom from the experts before I proceeded in any direction. What do you guys think I should do, try and close some of the gapping first then fill? Or just fill and not attempt to close the gaps. And what type of filler/putty do you recommend. The total amount of flooring is only about 200 SF with a 8' x 6' area on each end of the 4' x 25' wide hallway. Thank you for your time!!

wood floors shouldnt be heated over 80deg for one. wider solid plank hickory is about the most unstable floor for your application. It should have not been used over radiant heat. As far as filling goes best to leave them alone at this point. you fill them now and come spring when the floor returns to original size it will push that filler out in little jagged pieces.
