anyone know why my new wood floors which are the Click-and-fold type are making this noise? I let them sit for 3 days per instructions before installing and have waited two weeks. still making the same noise.... It is so annoying. You can hear someone sneaking up on you it is so bad.

The manufacturer said they are "milled" so tight that they need to have a week to settle. Well it has been 2 weeks and still the same noise.

Before I go crazy and start posting their name etc everywhere can anyone tell me if this is normal and will the noise go away?

Thanks!!! \\

-The subfloor is Concrete. Our house is right at 2 years old.
-Underlayment is 3in1 high end with the pad.
-had carpet previously -
-Other houses in neighborhood have recently installed flooring without this issue (same house builder)

A common complaint with those floors. Even if the substrate is within specs, the slightest movement will cause noise. Did you see bowed planks when installing them? That can have an effect as well.

As I installed I didnt think to look. HOWEVER I have two boxes left and i would say 80% are not true and can be seen as bowed...

I bought these floors from a online retailer and I want to make sure this is not normal.

It makes SO much clickity clack. not in just one spot, but every step.

even my 20lb dog makes them click

Yup, there are several things you can do that may help. One is making certain the rh in the house is constant and within the parameters of the manufacturers requirements; 35% to 45% will keep your wood around the manufactured moisture content wich is usually 6 to 9%. This might allow the wood to relax.

I did my neighboors house with Lock & Fold (Ken was there) , his squeaked the next day. But he is half deaf so didn't mind. lol

You can also take it apart and glue it down. Or take it apart and use T&G adhesive and glue it all together. This might void the warranty though.

Thanks for the info, the moisture content is ranging to 7-8%. I can only meausure the bottom layer. I guess thats all that matters anyway.
