I must say that the information and members on this site are great. Every topic area usually has only one or two good forums. For wood flooring, this has to be numero uno!

I plan to lay about 420 sq ft of wood flooring in two rooms (LR/DR) and a hallway that runs parallel with them. It all flows together with large entryways for the rooms (between each room and each room has an opening to the hall).

I had orginally settled on BR111 Triangulo Tigerwood, but ended up missing out on a good sale at $3.99 sq ft (though I did find another place that may have that price). So, I've went ahead and set my budget at $4 as I want to sell the home in two or three years. For easy of installation I am going to float the floor and I thought "why not use a clic system to make it that much easier." Right now, I'm looking hard at the Kahrs builders collection. Opinions are high of Kahrs, but what other products are available that may be considered an equal to Kahrs (at $4 or less)? I can clic or glue the floater. What are the key considerations when deciding to clic float, glue float or glue down?

IMO, it's hard to beat that Kahr's product at that price. You could consider a better quality laminate at around the same price BUT it isn't hardwood. All in all, for your budget, looking for quality AND a clip system, I don't think you can do better than the Kahr's.

I'm thinking the same way, though I have no experience base (that's where you guys come in :D ). So if I'm looking at a floating floor, I can't go wrong with the Kahrs? Should I consider a glue together (the BR111)? Or is the Kahrs clic as good as any T&G glue?

As well, the Kahrs is a fairly thick product overall, at least in my price range. Aesthetically, how will it look up against ceramic tile flooring? Would I be making a mistake at having the wood half again higer than the tiled areas? I guess I'll need a transition piece regardless of the wood floor thickness.

Last question. I already have a tiled entryway at the front door. Do you think I should scrape that up and just go with the wood? I see in the DIY tips section on floating floors installation, the link to Hardwood Floors Orlando (http://www.hhfloors.com/). Their website has several nice pictures of installed floors and one of them shows a tiled area at the front entry just like mine. I'm not sure I like it, but I know -nearly everything- is personal preference. What do you guys think? What is common practice?

Whew! Thanks for reading.
