Hi. I recently installed sheet vinyl in the kitchen and solid wood in the adjacent living room. Any recommendations on a product that will clean both floors? You can use most anything to clean vinyl, so I'm more concerned about not damaging the wood. I have two young, messy kids, so I have to clean the floors a lot. I know I can use Murphy's, but if you know other brands that are also available at supermarkets or Target, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

To the contrary, Murphy's oil soap is NOT recommended by many wood flooring manufacturers. Use the cleaner recommended by the manufacturer. If there is no recommendation, then use BONA Hardwood Floor Cleaner. You can get it at most flooring retailers or buy it online. Read this:

Thanks, Gary. So this Bona cleaner is also OK on vinyl? You know, now Murphy's has a spray floor cleaner like Bona and others and it's not their traditional formula.

Bona cleaner is safe for vinyl flooring.
