Can anyone tell me the proper maintenance as far as mopping, etc of hardwood flooring. I have been told not to use a swifter mop, it will ruin. I have 3/4" california red oak hardwood flooring. I was also told that I can not lay a rug on it for 3 months. Any truth to this? Any help would be appreciated.

Swiffer is fine, but use a wood flooring cleaner, recommended for the finish.
Bona make the one all others are compared to.

3 months???

They say 2 weeks, but I tell my clients one month to be safe. They may be wanting to be REAL safe, which can't hurt. Better safe then sorry.
