Good tips on the sanders! To make a Hummel more aggressive, simply adjust the nut on the bottom of the lever handle under the machine. With 40 grit on my sander, it cuts like nobody's business and I walk quickly. BTW, years ago, I made the mistake of sanding glue off of a wood subfloor. The glue heated up and reglued itself to my sander. What a mess! I never use my sanders anymore for subfloor repairs or any such thing. If I need to sand subfloors, I'll rent.

Hey Guys,
The paper belts for the Hummel can be expensive like Gary said, unless you shop around. I order my belts from Canada with no tax and free shipping over $120. They are having a clearance on aluminum oxide belts and I got a whole ..it load for $1.57 each. I've been using their belts for about a year now and have had only one belt that gave me problems.
As a one man operation, I need to keep my overhead down, and these are comperable (sp?) to 3M and Norton.

Danny,
Love AEI's new supreme belts. Probably why they're cleaaring out the older stuff. Edger paper is good stuff too and way better priced than 3M.
Thanks for the info on the web site. I've been buying from intermountain wood products here.

In order to achieve what the competition cannot grasp, we must complete what they will not attempt. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but it's darn sure worth it.
