Anyone know how to get the pad off of one of these? Mine is all worn and I bought a new one but can't get the old one off. Are there any secrets?

Its probably never been off. The first time it's on there good! It's threaded backwards like a saw blade so it self tightens as it spins. You will have to line up the holes it the pad first, take a big screw driver put it down in the hole to stop the fan and start whacking at the shaf tof the screwdriver to break loose, once you free it upit will spin right off.. FLoor style made a tool to do this but there gone now. Ive had them come off in two or three whacks then others I had to beat for ever. I am always scared that Im going to break the fan, dont know of another way.

Thanks going to work on it now. I've been trying but like you said I was afraid to break something.

Success. But Kevin in case you do one again it is threaded normally, counter clockwise to loosen.

Ive changed the pad several times. I just use the big screwdriver (like the flathead you would bull a wall with/pound a misfired staple with)
I don't do anything to the fan, just put the screwdriver in the big hole in the rubber pad (maybe an inch) a good whack or two and it will be off
