Are cleats and nails the same thing? the other question I had was "T" vs "L" nails whats the reasoning in choosing one over the other. I'm a DIY guy and in this area the rental shops carry the Bositich mIII FS and FN another shop carries the priamatech 240 with "L" nails. I've read the thread on nail vs staples and am leaning towards the nail recommendation made by Dennis

Yes cleats and nails are the same. And you have to use what the gun uses, I don't know of a gun using the t-nails.

Porta-nail makes a gun for the t-nail. As does Primatech ( a modified P-250). Dont know of any significant value to using t-nails over L-cleats though.
