Hi All

I'm looking at doing an end grain block floor using european sweet chestnut , I believe its a very stable wood, cheap as cheap here also

Is there any reason not to use this ? Also how big can I go with the blocks before running into problems expansion etc I would like to go to
6x6 inches ? Bigger blocks means less work ( unless I mess up )

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I've seen guys use slices of end grain as wide as 10 to 12 inches. I would guess drying it is the tough part so it does not split and is flat enough to install.
